Grace Lee joined Shell in March 2014 and is part of the Production Engineering Team and has worked in Maintenance, Reliability and Turnaround for the Prelude. When asked about what she thinks is the best thing when working for Shell she replied:  "The best thing about working at Shell is the opportunity you get to work with the people who make Shell." What is your role in Shell?

I’m a Graduate Production Engineer

When did you join Shell? I joined Shell in March 2014 How did you join Shell's Graduate Programme?I joined Shell’s Graduate Programme after completing an Assessed Internship Programme with Shell.What made you want to join Shell?I was fortunate to be part of an internship in 2012/13 and I had the opportunity to see what it would be like to join Shell. Shell has endless opportunities to learn and develop your skills, from training, online learning to face-to-face workshops.

 There is a terrific culture where everyone is so open and willing to help, and there is endless support.

What is your first graduate rotation and what will you be doing?I am part of the Production Engineering team working in Maintenance, Reliability and Turnaround for Prelude – a Floating liquefied natural gas project. For the next six months I will be based in Perth working with my team on Prelude. I will then be moving to New Zealand for two years where I will further develop my technical skills.

What’s the best thing about working for Shell?There are many great things about working for Shell. The best thing is working with the people that make Shell. 

There is a diverse range of people from various cultural backgrounds with different interests and hobbies. There is a strong esprit de corps!

What are you looking forward to the most with regards to Shell’s Graduate Programme?I am really looking forward to meeting new people, travelling and learning about Shell’s Upstream Business.

Tell us a bit about yourself.I enjoy exploring new places and love to travel and learn about different cultures. I like spending my time keeping active and really enjoy outdoor sports. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and love to cook and try new recipes!
